Abandoned Flash Projects
One thing that used to happen a lot in the days of slumming it with Flash was that I’d start a project ( usually with someone else ) and then they would bail on me, leaving the project dead in the water. This is a collection of these sad dead projects which I made a bunch of artwork for.
2009-2010 — Mind Over Metal
This was going to be a Metal Slug type game, to be released on Steam and Xbox Live. The programmer kind of just quit updating this and working on it as he made a sequel to his Solar game, which was a great success on Steam. Solar was a much less complicated game than this so I figured he just quit because he saw the risk/reward wasn’t there for this project.
Pretty much none of the artwork was ever reused for anything. I really busted my ass on this one.
2011 — Epic Kitchen
I had this idea for a food-stacking physics game where you’d try to build the biggest most ridiculous meals to score points. It was inspired by the then-booming Epic Meal Time franchise. I only got as far as making the HUD for this, then went on to other things when I couldn’t find someone who’d program it with me.
2010 — Some Plane Game?
I don’t remember anything about this game. It was going to be a top-down scrolling shooter I guess?
2008 - Battle City remake
Battle City was one of my favourite NES games as a kid and I figured it would be easy enough to make a Flash version of it. I made basically 70-80% of the artwork that would have been required to turn this into a full game. My programmer built an early prototype but never got very far into this before basically vanishing off the face of the earth.
2005 - Pickleman Game
Started working on this game during college. Basically my first foray into sprites. I worked on turning a bunch of SNES sprites into a Pickleman game, and created some of my own. We never really found a programmer who gave a shit about making this. One built a semi-decent one level demo but we never released it anywhere I don’t think. The game eventually died.
