2024-2025: Salish Sea Islands

Starting in 2024 I made an effort to visit way more new places and roads around Victoria, which started me on the project of trying to visit as many of the various Salish Sea islands as you can access.

There’s about 50 which the public can get on via a ferry or bridge but many more that are entirely private or only accessible with your own boat/kayak. Most of these have no roads to cycle on, but many hiking trails and camping spots.

I also made an effort to stop at as many museums as possible. Boy there sure are a lot of museums. Probably in the triple digits between Vancouver Islands, Vancouver and Northern WA alone.

Washington Attractions 2

More stuff around the Seattle Area ( but not inside that

horrible hellscape ).

Canada Salish Islands 11-20

The most remote /rugged Islands, from Port Hardy to crossing into Powel River.

Canada Salish Attractions 1

Just the tiny museums and attractions you can find around these islands.

U.S.A. Islands 1-12

Starting on the U.S. side crossing into Port Angeles from Victoria.

Washington Attractions 1

Made a point to stop at as many museums and other

various attractions as possible on this trip.

Canada Salish Islands 1-10

Mostly the well traveled nicely paved big Islands near city centers.

Canada Salish Islands 21-29

The last clump of Islands surrounding Vancouver.

Canada Salish Attractions 2

Just the tiny museums and attractions you can find around these islands.

2024: Madeira/ Canary Islands

Part 4: Back in Tenerife

Mainly doing the western side of the Island, going up Mount Teide every way possible.

Part 1: Madeira

First stop on the Portugese island of Madeira, trying to

do every road. It’s steep!

Part 3: Gran Canaria

Filling the heatmap as much as possible on the other

large volcanic island of the Canaries. Prime tourist destination as well!

Part 2: Tenerife North

First stay in the Canaries on the Island of Tenerife, home to Mount Teide and lots of epic climbing.

Part 5: La Palma, La Gomera and Back.

Visiting more islands including the primal La Palma volcanic paradise and then making my way back home.

2023 Summer Trip.
Planned a week in Lake Tahoe with friends so obviously I had to expand it to a big trip since the car hasn’t exploded yet.

2022 Bonus Winter Trip to visit my friends Carmen and Ryan at their new house in Tuscon.

Part 4: Leaving Tahoe

Back on the road with the bike still hanging on by a thread. Doing more Northern California big mountains.

Part 1: Leaving Home

Mainly crossing through the Rockies doing as many mountains as I could, not that Canada has many.

Part 2: Mega Drive

Zooming down from Calgary to Salt Lake city and discovering that there’s still snow everywhere in May.

Part 3: Bike Slowly Dying

Amazing vistas and mountains but mounting mechanical issues start to derail my plans. Made it to Lake Tahoe at least.

Part 5: Time to go back

Bike gave up for good so it was truly time to go back. Lot of unfortunate material emergencies this trip.

Driving Down To Tuscon

Driving over 1000km in 3 days to go stay at my friend’s house in Tuscon!

Tuscon

Tuscon: Prime winter destination for North American cyclists. Also has cool statues of quails. Woah.

California Cycling Adventure

Almost 16 000m of climbing in 8 days. Brutal weather conditions but still beautiful compared to most of Canada right now.
