2007 - Zombie Garage - College Final Project

I did 2 years of Fine Arts and then 3 years of graphic design with comic book specialization. This was the final project of the 3rd year, where we had to make a comic and print it out. I decided to just make a full-length comic book, way longer than the minimum required. It was a lot of work and made me question if doing this every single month until I die was a smart career to pick. Tons of hours of stressful work for less money than the average receptionist, in a dying industry of print media?

By that time I had already been making Flash games and movies on my own and decided to just keep going with that, making my 5 years of art school pretty much useless. Well worse than useless since it was a waste of time and money that I could have just used to practice. The lesson is: Don’t go to college for anything you can practice on your own and which doesn’t require some diploma or license for you to legally be allowed to work in that field.

You will learn much more working for clients / bosses right away. You will learn the latest technology, the latest trends and you will practice with people who are actually making money in the industry you want to work in.

Anyway I removed all the text from these. No one can read this haha. My inking is bad, sorry. I’m glad I kept the pencil scans at least.
