How am I doing so far?
1- Get a Gravel Bike - Done
Bought it used, it’s not set up to tide. Haven’t done a ride yet but there are plans in motion for September…
2- Get Cat 1 w/kg - Done
Started the year at 162 lbs with previous max 20watt power of 365 putting me at 4.95 w/kg.
Last week test: 154lbs and 370w, so now up to 5.28 w/kg, essentially right at my “mid level cat1” goal.
2.B - Get UCI Pro w/kg - Not Done
So next level up: 5.5 w/kg. I’d have to drop to 148-150lbs and up the watts to 375/380. I think I can only achieve this on a steep hill because of the weird geometry/dynamics of biking on a hill vs flat/rolling which is where I did 370. It’s possible I can already do 375 on that terrain which puts me at 5.35. So damn close!
Caveat: My power meter might be off. Still either way that’d be an increase of 0.5 w/kg on my 20min power which is a huge increase at my age and ability level so I’d be happy with this!
3- Do Blueprint - Doing okay
Very big protocol and lots of research.

- Hair Care. Sticking to everything but the microneedling. Seeing good results so will keep at this for probably life.
- Skin Health. Just doing a morning and night cream. Bryan has mostly stopped with the creams anyway.
- Oral Health. Doing better than ever ( haven’t gone to dentist yet though ). Not using tongue scrapper much though.
- Sleep. Mostly quite good, waking up on average around 6.30-7am whole year. Not early enough for the AM rides here, I’d have to wake at 4:30am…
- No more video games. Ok I played a lot early this year but not in many months now. I’m bored with the idea of even playing games now for some reason.
- Supplements. I forget to take the evening ones often for some reason. Going forward I’ll just do mornings anyway. Zero difference noticed.
- Food: I still mostly eat trash but my excuse is burning 15k calories a week biking.
- Training: Sticking well to mildly structure but very high training volume on the bike. Did not do so well with weights in the winter and off weights now. Something to improve but realizing I’d need a gym/coach to be motivated enough.
4 - Sell some Portraits and do live in-Person ones - 50%Done
Haven’t made any in person and it’s a bit of a struggle to sell these on marketplace. Not marketing myself too well I suppose. I’d love to be doing more though!
Made an Etsy but nobody on there either.
5- Travel - Done
Did a very solid trip to Madeira / Canary Islands. Lots of planning, costs and biking was had.

Alaska Gravel route on hiatus for now…. plans were made but there’s just such a sheer amount of empty roads with nowhere to ride that it’s not worth it and I couldn’t really train either or work on other goals since this has to be done only in the summer. Also: The bears… I’ve seen the videos around Denali.
Doing a 2 week or so mainland trip soon as replacement.
6- More Dates - 2/12
Well 12 more women ( if it comes to date ). Just 2 so far as I write this in mid-august. Now the caveat is that I am dating with intention and not just to pad numbers so I am picky, but it’s kind of been dry and not particularly motivating to me. Few more months but…yeah…
7- Finish IMDB Top250…. again - 99% Done
Most of these new additions are painful to watch. Many new Japanese/ Korean movies. The IMDB “trauma porn” is some of my least favorite genre of movies as well and it’s a large% of the list.
So many of these movies are just pointlessly depressing now, they don’t even have a good ending. Just a bunch of violence/trauma and then it ends. The fuck did I just watch?

8- Hike in Strathcona - Not Done
Tried to set this up multiple times with people this year but seems I have to just go and do it alone. Wasn’t my preference for such a remote area and hard hike but I’m sure it’ll be fine…yes…
